
Francis Rivera-Rivas
Country Manager and Representative for Venezuela
Francis is a sociologist with more than twenty-eight years years of hands-on experience in public, governmental and private affairs, sustainable development programs, stakeholder engagement, and social performance standards. She supports organizations to align their business principles and achieve their goals on social responsibility to become more sustainable.
Her experiences include working in diverse complex social setting and sensitive environment in Latin America and Africa. She has occupied important positions in the public sector including the Venezuelan Planning Ministry and Ministry of Social Issues. International agencies like UNICEF and UNDP. The Oil industry, working with ConocoPhillips, and Chevron. Most recently, she worked as an independent consultant at HSE International.
Francis has leading the implementation of new social standards for government and extractive industries in Venezuela, on social base lines studies, social development programs, strategic community relations, grievance mechanisms, prior consultation, and building reputation. She has been internationally recognized for her work with indigenous and fishermen in the Gulf of Paria in Venezuela. Earned two MSc in Political Science and Public Administrations.
She currently serves as Country Manager and Representative for i-APS in Venezuela.
