The Una Gota de Amor para Venezuela (UGAV) food security intervention in Barquisimeto and Caracas was a one year project implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International (ADRA). i-APS and its Venezuela-based affiliate partner, VZ-APS, were contracted by ADRA Venezuela to design, coordinate, and conduct baseline and endline assessments to assess the beneficiary food security at the onset of the program. The baseline study was conducted in September and October 2020 and consisted of the following components: 1) a phone survey of representative sample of beneficiaries to capture key food security and infant and young child feeding indicators (507 households) and 2) in person home visits to a subsample of survey participants to conduct water testing (268 households). The final evaluation was conducted in 2021 using a mixed-methods approach to assess food security using standard BHA indicators. i-APS implemented the evaluations using a combination of Venezuelan country national technical team, data collectors and international food security experts.
